held at the Jackpot restaurant on West Colfax. The speaker was Mr. Phil

As recounted in the February 1991 Newsletter: The following are
excerpts from a speech given at the second official Mile High Chapter
meeting held November 14, 1952: Keynote: Essentials of Good
Management in Punched-Card Installations, J. N. Raines, IBM
- Planning Stage:
- Designing of parts, forms, and cards (reference,
classifying, and quantitative information)
- Punching into the card the information (key punching or
reproducing from master deck -- verify!)
- Document control and dollar control (the actual accounting)
- Procedure development (write how you do your accounting)
- Operating the Department
- Measure responsibilities
- Scheduling
- Evaluation and Improvement
- Keep report forms and card forms up to date (effectiveness)
- Good Morale:
- Top management (be diplomatic)
- Operators in your own installation (impart to them knowledge
you have)
