Keynote presentation: "The Business of Gaming"
Gary Rosenzweig, President, CO Game Developers Assoc.

Web sites are no longer static pages with information.  They are interactive experiences and social networking tools.  Web developers are borrowing ideas from game developers.  They are not only putting games on their Web sites, but turning sites into game-like experiences.  We'll take a look at some Web sites and how they use interactive techniques and games.

Gary Rosenzweig is the chief engineer and owner of CleverMedia.  He founded the company in 1995.  He is the author of 10 books about Director and Flash, speaks at conferences and has worked on many interactive multimedia projects since 1998.  In addition to dealing with business matters, Gary designs and programs most of CleverMedia's games.  He likes to play real-time strategy PC games, chess and Free Style.

Workshop: "ROI of Identity Management"
David Stevens, Marketing Associate, Symplified, Boulder

Stevens teaches how security and IT professionals can obtain financing for important security initiatives using accounting principles such as Return On Investment (ROI) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).  In this 30-minute presentation, the group learns what these terms mean and how they can be used to show the value of security software purchases.

In 2006, Symplified recruited Stevens for his expertise and ability to clearly explain concepts like Return On Investment  and Total Cost of Ownership.  Over the past 5 years, Stevens has given dozens of presentations regarding ROI, and is a confident and charismatic speaker.  Stevens is touring the U.S. representing Symplified and teaching how ROI can be applied to security and Identity investments to technical security user groups.

Product management plays a major role for companies that
understand and leverage its value.  So what is this discipline?
February brings a world-class speaker and topic to your local
Mile High Chapter of the Association of Information
Technology Professionals.

Please join us Thursday, February 21 for:
"The Strategic Role of Product Management"
presented by Barbara Nelson, Instructor, Pragmatic Marketing.

Product management is often ill-defined and misunderstood in
typical technology companies. Yet the role can be one that
propels the company to the next level of performance. Rather
than running the business like a hobby, effective product
managers focus on the business aspects of defining and
delivering products to market. Barbara Nelson will explore the
strategic role of product management using the Pragmatic
Marketing Framework. The session will also include action
items for reviewing and assessing the product management
role at your company.

With more than 20 years of experience in the software
industry, and having launched several products following the
Pragmatic Marketing Framework, Barbara Nelson is an
evangelist of market-driven products. As an instructor for more
than 7 years, Barbara teaches many of Pragmatic Marketing's
top-rated seminars.

Keynote: "HD Digital Transition: Are You Ready?" - Jim Schoedler, JB Schoedler Associates, Technology Consultant

On February 17, 2009, federal law requires that all full-power television broadcast stations stop broadcasting in analog and broadcast only in digital. The ranks of those who believe it won't happen, that Congress or the FCC will somehow push back the date, are much smaller now that there's less than a year to go. In this talk we'll focus on the inevitability of the change and its impact on individuals, businesses, and the general culture. What should you do to prepare? Find out on Thursday, March 20.

Jim specializes in digital television and the convergence of IT and traditional broadcast engineering. He was formerly CTO for Rocky Mountain PBS, responsible for a network of four television stations across Colorado. Prior to that Mr. Schoedler was Senior Project Director for National TeleConsultants in Glendale, California where his clients included DIRECTV, Fox Television Network, Warner Brothers and Walt Disney Feature Animation. Mr. Schoedler holds a MS Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Electronic Physics from La Salle College. He is the current chair of the Denver Chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, is a Game Day Frequency Coordinator for the NFL Broncos, and will be involved in communications coordination for the Democratic National Convention in August 2008.
